Acetyl L-Carnitine is derived from methionine and lysine amino acids and this is primarily synthesized in the kidneys and liver. This is transported to various other tissues in the body. However, the highest concentration of Acetyl L Carnitine is found in the tissues that employs the fatty acids to be the primary dietary fuel mainly the cardiac and skeletal muscles. The supplement of Acetyl L Carnitine is very useful for the oxidation of fatty acid and helps in burning the unwanted body fat. The fatty acids are the main energy sources and the process called oxidation is the main to break and create it into energy. The fatty acids fail to penetrate the mitochondia membrane and Acetyl L Carnitine transports fatty acids through the mitochondia membrane allowing fats oxidation.
Acetyl L Carnitine plays a vital role in the production of energy and supports the body functions that need high energy levels. This is available in many foods such as vegetables grains and meats. This is available in higher concentration in beef and lamb and the vegetables and white meats have least concentration.
Berberine is an alkaloid plant used for medicinal purpose in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. It is yellow in color and bitter-tasting. Studies show that berberine possesses weak antibiotic properties which inhibits the growth of virus, fungi and bacteria. This feature of berberine has made it popular in the treatment of sinus infections, diarrhea and respiratory problems. It lowers the level of cholesterol and blood pressure and suppresses the development of tumor cells which include leukemia, breast cancer, hepatoma etc. However berberine must not be used without consulting your physician. Pregnant women must stay away from this compound as it increases the chance of premature delivery and miscarriage by causing contraction in the uterus. Because of its strong yellow color berberine was used to dye wood, leather and wool.

Octopamine is a biogenic substance which is containing an amine group, apparently related to noradrenaline, which is a catecholamine functioning as both, neurotransmitter and a hormone. Similar to norepinephrine, which is another name for noradrenaline, octopamine may act as a stress hormone, triggering increased heart rate, energy consumption and blood flow, even the blood pressure. One side effect of octopamine is apparently the release of fat from the adipocytes, which are the fat cells where excess energy is being stored. This side effect prompted the use of octopamine as a dietary supplement aimed at weight loss, but used in combination with other stimulants. Octopamine has been discovered in the middle of the twentieth century, but the use as a fat removal agent is very recent.
Synephrine is an ingredient that is obtained mainly from the fruit of a small citrus tree, the Citrus aurantium, also known as bitter orange, zhi shi and sour orange. Synephrine is viewed as the safer version of ephedrine, whereby the properties include weight loss, increased fat burning, raised metabolism, as well as boosted energy levels. With such properties, this drug became instantly popular with the weight loss and control circles, but also with the body building community, and is now used in Lipoxene EF where fat burning and higher energy level properties are eagerly sought after. Initial research show stimulation of beta-3 receptors, whereby no increased heart rate or blood pressure was observed. It seems that synephrine induces lipolysis and stimulates similarly to caffeine. Some have also observed that synephrine suppresses appetite and increases the metabolic rate.
