Ingredients and Descriptions
Acetyl L-Carnitine is a form of L-carnitine, only acetylated. It is a very popular dietary supplement derived from amino acids, methionine and lysine. L-carnitine helps fatty acids to cross the membrane of the mitochondria and become available for usage. ALCAR, which is an alternate name for acetyl L-carnitine, is currently under research for possible treatment of Parkinson’s disease and cerebral ischemia. Di-Calcium Phosphate, also known as calcium monohydrogen phosphate is usually found as a hihydrate. However being a dibasic calcium phosphate, it can thermally be converted to its anhydroius form.
Dicalcium phosphate is generally mined from the earth’s crust and may also be known as lime, calcium lime etc. However since di-calcium phosphate is incapable of breaking down completely, it is a poor source of replacing calcium in the bones. Since it contains calcium, Di-calcium phosphate will dissolve in the stomach acid (HCL). However since it is bound to phosphate, it will not be completely soluble. This results in partial dissolution and is insufficient for proper metabolism.
This calcium from the di-calcium phosphate could collect in the arteries causing arteriosclerotic heart disease, or it could end up in the tissue making the skin age prematurely etc.
Folic Acid or Vitamin B9 is essential as it assists the formation of red blood cells in the body and genetic material within every cell. It helps in metabolism of proteins and prevention of anemia and is vital for cell growth and division.
Folic acid is an important nutrient for pregnant women to prevent congenital malformation in the fetus. N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine will raise the tyrosine level in the body. The benefit with N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine is that it is 20 time more soluble in water. This is one of the amino acids.
NAD- Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide is found in all living cells, and it is a dinucleotide and a coenzyme. NAD can be synthesized by the human body, it can be derived either from tryptophan or from aspartic acid. It can also be recycled by salvaging preformed nicotinamide into NAD. Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide has multiple vital activities to perform in human metabolism. As a coenzyme, it is involved in redox reactions, but also as a provider of adenosine diphosphate – ribose clusters for ADP-ribosylations, as a precursor for the molecule cyclic ADP-ribose, as a substrate for DNA ligases of bacteria, plus removal from acetyl groups out of proteins by sirtuins that employ NAD for that purpose. Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide is available as a dietary supplement in the reduced NADH form.
Phosphatidylcholine - Phosphatidylcholines are phospholipids which are found in all biological membranes. It is derived from egg yolk or soy beans. Found in abundant counts in lecithin, phosphatidylcholines are sometimes mistakenly referred to as lecithin. Phosphatidylcholine has been used in clinical emergencies, particularly in treatment of atheroma plaques in cardiac diseases. An interesting side effect has been observed during such use, namely that the injection area of phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate displayed visible fat loss effects.
